ABOUT US

Centre for Community Health Change is a NON-PROFIT making community based Organization located in Malindi-Magarini that promotes Child protection, Community health and Research. The organization was founded in 2014 by professionals who were concerned by the increased cases of child labour, dwindling health of the youth and community in Malindi, drug and substance use and abuse and other social vices.  It was registered in 2016 under the ministry of Labour, social security and services as a community based organization with the aim of offering child protection services, promoting and advocating for quality, adequate and reliable health care services and conducting research in the community.

A healthy community where every child is educated, protected and able to access quality health care services.

Services

WHAT WE DO

  1. Child protection​

  • Advocacy- empower youths on their rights to education as stipulated in article 53 of the Kenyan’s constitution.

  • Edutainment- using sports, drama and skits as a form of entertainment to pass educational messages

  • Peer education- offer peer education training to the youths in order to equip them with life skills and knowledge on SRH and also champion for BCC

  • Counseling- offer group and peer to peer counseling

 

  1. Community health

  • Advocacy- advocating for community right to health as stipulated in article 42 of the constitution

  • Counseling and Testing- offer community counseling and testing services e.g. Door to Door & moonlight services

  • SRH Sensitization & awareness- hold community sensitization and awareness meetings in order to empower the community with knowledge and skills on the basic SRH services

  • MNCH- work with the local administration and CHV’s to hold community meetings in order to champion for proper MNCH services

  • Distribution of IEC materials

 

  1. Research

  • Partner with organization that conducts research.

  • Data collection- conducting research based data collection

  • Conducting FGD’s and IDI’s- assist in conducting FGD’s, IDI’s and doing the  translation and transcription
